Discover a small piece of Wales in Argentina with this tour of Gaiman, where the language, customs, and traditions of the Welsh people are preserved in South America.
Gaiman Trip
After departing from your hotel, the first stop is Punta Cuevas, an early settlement of the Welsh colony in Chubut Province. We will proceed to Gaiman, notable for the largest proportion of Welsh descendants in Argentina. This town serves as the community's central hub. Here, along the Chubut River, a visit will be made to the first Welsh house, built in 1874.
The exploration continues at the Regional Historical Museum, located in an old train station, where you can see elements of the Welsh legacy preserved in the railway tunnel and the old chapel built by settlers arriving at the end of the 19th century.
To conclude the tour, we will visit a traditional teahouse to enjoy tea and biscuits as the Welsh do. Afterward, transportation back to your hotel in Puerto Madryn will be provided.
