Gaiman Trip
After setting off from your hotel, our first stop is Punta Cuevas, one of the first settlements of the Welsh colony in Chubut, Argentina.
To learn about Welsh emigration to Argentina and the community's evolution, we will head to Gaiman, the town with the largest proportion of Welsh descendants in the country. Here, on the banks of the Chubut River, we will visit the first Welsh house, a British style building constructed in 1874.
We continue exploring the town's heritage by visiting the Regional Historical Museum, housed in an old train station. The museum showcases evidence of the Welsh legacy through the railway tunnel and the old chapel, built when the settlers arrived at the end of the 19th century.
Finally, we will visit a traditional teahouse for tea and biscuits, reminiscent of authentic Welsh culture. At the end of the tour, we will return you to your hotel in Puerto Madryn.
