Discover a small piece of Wales in Argentina when you take this fantastic tour of Gaiman, exploring the preserved language, customs, and traditions of the Welsh people in South America.
Gaiman Trip
After departing from your hotel, the first stop is Punta Cuevas, one of the initial settlements of the Welsh colony in Chubut, Argentina.
Next, we will proceed to Gaiman, the town with the highest proportion of Welsh descendants in Argentina, serving as the community's focal point. Here, beside the Chubut River, we will visit the first Welsh house, built in 1874.
To further explore the town's history, we will visit the Regional Historical Museum, located in an old train station. Notable sites reflecting the Welsh heritage include the railway tunnel and the old chapel, established by settlers in the late 19th century.
The tour concludes with a visit to a traditional teahouse for tea and biscuits, akin to an authentic Welsh experience. Finally, we will return to your hotel in Puerto Madryn.
