Patagonia Tour Package: 9 Days from Puerto Madryn
Day 1: Puerto Madryn
Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Puerto Madryn. Following this, you'll make your way to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia. Upon arrival, we will be there to welcome you, leaving the remainder of the day free for you to unwind and discover the charm of this northern Patagonian city at your own pace.
Day 2: Punta Tombo
After enjoying a substantial breakfast at your hotel, our first stop will be the Punta Tombo Provincial Reserve, which houses the largest Magellanic penguin colony in Argentina. Witness these fascinating creatures while learning more about their behavior at the Punta Tombo Interpretation Centre – did you know they engage in egg theft? At the conclusion of this excursion, we will return you to your hotel in Puerto Madryn.
Day 3: Puerto Madryn – Bariloche
On the third day, following breakfast, we will assist you in getting to the airport or bus station for your journey onward to Bariloche. Upon your arrival, we will transfer you to your hotel, after which you can enjoy the rest of the day to relax or take in the views of the majestic Lake Nahuel Huapi.
Day 4: Bariloche
Your day begins with breakfast before we embark on our exciting adventure at 9 AM. As we journey alongside Lake Nahuel Huapi, we’ll pass Playa Bonita and make our way to Cerro Campanario. You’ll have the option to ascend this peak by chairlift or on foot, and either way, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of Victoria Island and the town of San Carlos de Bariloche!
Next, we will visit Villa de Llao Llao to take in the impressive San Eduardo Chapel, crafted by architect Alejandro Bustillo. After exploring this picturesque area, we’ll pass by Escondido Lake and Lopez Bay, making a stop at a viewpoint that rises 3100 feet (945 meters) above sea level. We will conclude this day by returning you to your hotel for relaxation.
Day 5: Bariloche - El Calafate
On this day, your journey continues as we transfer you to the airport or station in Bariloche for your flight to El Calafate. We will be waiting for you upon your arrival to take you to your hotel, after which you will have the opportunity to explore the city and its vibrant culture at your leisure.
Day 6: Los Glaciares National Park
Dress warmly and fuel up with a delicious breakfast, as today marks our visit to Los Glaciares National Park. Here, you will encounter the stunning Perito Moreno Glacier, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Covering nearly 100 square miles (250 square kilometers), this remarkable glacier is actually advancing, contrary to what many might expect due to climate change!
As you walk along the various pathways and lookout points surrounding this majestic ice formation, you will undoubtedly be enchanted by its size and splendor. While you might wish to linger indefinitely, after two and a half hours it will be time to head back to your accommodation in El Calafate.
Day 7: El Calafate – Ushuaia
The seventh day of your journey begins with a pick-up from your hotel for a transfer to either the bus or train station in El Calafate, where you will embark on your own adventure to Ushuaia. After your arrival, you will be taken to your hotel, leaving the remainder of the day free for exploration. Consider visiting the iconic Lighthouse at the End of the World, a location that inspired Jules Verne!
Day 8: Tierra del Fuego National Park
Just 7 miles (11 kilometers) from Ushuaia lies the stunning Tierra del Fuego National Park, where we will spend our penultimate day. We’ll travel past the slopes of Mount Susana to the Southern Fuegian Railway, also known as the Train at the End of the World. You may choose to ride this historic train, which is intricately linked to the history of the Ushuaia Prison, or opt to explore Ensenada Bay, where you'll have the chance to view the Redondo and Estorbo Islands in the Beagle Channel.
Shortly after, we will regroup and visit Roca Lake, Lapataia River, and Cerro Condor, and marvel at the breathtaking landscapes that define this southernmost region of Patagonia. At the end of the day, we’ll return you to Ushuaia.
Day 9: Ushuaia
Your final day is reserved for delving into Ushuaia and its key attractions. We recommend visiting the End of the World Prison to uncover the storied past of one of Argentina's most notorious criminals, El Petiso Orejudo.
Ultimately, after nine incredible days discovering Argentine Patagonia, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure.
