If you are arriving in Puerto Madryn by cruise, our trip to Punta Tombo is an ideal activity. This nature reserve is home to Argentina's largest colony of penguins and showcases the country's stunning landscapes.
Punta Tombo Shore Excursion
We will pick you up at the port of Puerto Madryn and travel to Punta Tombo (entrance not included), approximately 100 miles away. Upon arrival, we will embark on a guided walk along the nature trail within the reserve, where you will see penguins interacting with their environment, including caring for their chicks. Silence is essential to avoid disturbing resting penguins.
We will visit a panoramic viewpoint to observe penguins entering and exiting the ocean. As you explore Punta Tombo, you will gain insights into the lifestyle of these creatures, particularly during summer when over a million penguins are present.
In addition to penguins, expect to see Guanacos, Piche 'dwarf' armadillos, and foxes, all indigenous to the area.
After the walk, we will proceed to a roadside inn for your free time to have lunch (not included). Following this, we will return to Puerto Madryn, arriving in time for you to board your cruise ship.
