Join us on a day trip from Puerto Madryn along the Valdés Peninsula to spot various native species of animals in Patagonia.
Day Trip Details
We will pick you up at your hotel in Puerto Madryn and head to the Valdes Peninsula nature conservation area. After paying the entrance fee, we will visit the Carlos Ameghino isthmus visitor center for a glimpse of local flora and fauna, then proceed to the village of Puerto Pirámides. Between June 15 and December 15, an optional boat trip for whale watching is available. Those not taking the boat ride will have free time in Puerto Pirámides. Next, we will visit Caleta Valdés, making up to three stops based on the season. The first stop is at the cove to observe the Valdés Peninsula inlet, the second at Punta Cantor for elephant seals and sea lions, and the third at the penguin colony from September to April to see Magellanic penguins. There is also a chance of seeing killer whales.
The tour includes sightings of guanacos, choiques, maras, hares, foxes, and armadillos as we proceed to Punta Norte. From September to December, elephant seals are observed, while from December to May, sea lions are present. We may also spot killer whales in favorable conditions. Lunch is on your own before we return to Puerto Madryn, with an arrival time set for 10 hours post-pickup.
