Discover one of Argentina's natural treasures with our trip to the Valdes Peninsula, specially adapted for cruise passengers arriving in Puerto Madryn.
Valdes Peninsula Shore Excursion
We will meet you at Puerto Madryn port upon your cruise arrival, before heading to the Valdes Peninsula (entry not included), a nature reserve outside the city.
The journey takes us across the isthmus of Carlos Ameghino, connecting the peninsula to Chabut province. This wilderness area spans 1,400 square miles and hosts numerous animal species. We will visit the Interpretation Center at the reserve's entrance, featuring an observation point with views of the peninsula, the gulfs, and the Isla de Los Pájaros, home to various birds including gulls, herons, and penguins.
Next, we stop at Caleta Valdés bay to view Elephant Seals and Sea Lions in their natural habitat. We will proceed to Punta Cantor for a closer look at these creatures, followed by a break for food (not included).
Afterward, we continue our tour. If conditions allow, we may spot orcas hunting in groups.
Our final stop is Puerto Pirámides, the only settlement on the peninsula, designated a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve for its biodiverse ecosystem, with sea lions present in the area.
In the afternoon, we return to Puerto Madryn port for your cruise departure.
