Valdes Peninsula Shore Excursion for Cruise Passengers

Discover one of Argentina's natural treasures when you take our trip to the Valdes Peninsula. This tour has been specially adapted to suit cruise passengers arriving at the city of Puerto Madryn.

Valdes Peninsula Shore Excursion

We will meet you at the port of Puerto Madryn upon your arrival by cruise ship, before heading to the Valdes Peninsula (entry not included), a nature reserve located just outside the city.

Our journey will take us across the isthmus of Carlos Ameghino, connecting the peninsula to the Chubut province on the mainland. The wilderness area covers 1,400 square miles and hosts many animal species. We will arrive at the Interpretation Center at the reserve's entrance, where you will find an observation point with views across the peninsula to both gulfs and Isla de Los Pájaros, home to gulls, herons, and penguins.

Our next stop is the bay of Caleta Valdés to see Elephant Seals and Sea Lions in their natural habitat. For a closer encounter, we will head to Punta Cantor, where you can have a break for food if you wish (not included).

After the break, we continue our tour. If conditions allow, we may spot orcas hunting in groups.

The last stop is Puerto Pirámides, the only settlement on the peninsula, which is a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. This area is home to a large colony of sea lions.

In the afternoon, we will return to the port of Puerto Madryn for your cruise ship.
