Dreamy landscapes and beautiful towns such as Quemchi, Dalcahue & Castro await on Chiloé Island. Discover all its charm with this day trip from Puerto Montt!

Chiloé Day Trip: Quemchi, Dalcahue & Castro

We'll pick you up from your downtown Puerto Montt hotel. From there, we'll enjoy a scenic hour-long drive to the town of Pargua. Upon arrival at the port, we'll board a ferry and set sail across the Chacao Channel, observing local marine fauna like sea lions and pelicans. After about 30 minutes, we'll reach Chacao port for a brief stroll around the town.

Next, we'll visit Quemchi, which has been described by Francisco Coloane as the "Commune of 1000 Landscapes." We will cross a 430-meter (1,410-foot) bridge to Aucar, known as the “Island of the Sailing Souls.”

Our route continues to Dalcahue for a stroll through its handicraft market and a visit to the church of Nuestra Señora De Los Dolores, a part of the World Heritage Site.

Finally, we'll arrive in Castro, the island's capital, noted for its brightly painted houses. We will visit the San Francisco church and its handicraft market before returning to Puerto Montt, with arrival scheduled 12 hours after pickup.
