Chiloé Day Trip: Quemchi, Dalcahue & Castro

Pickup will be from your downtown Puerto Montt hotel. Enjoy a scenic hour-long drive to Pargua, where we will board a ferry to sail across the Chacao Channel and explore Chiloé Island. During the crossing, observe sea lions, pelicans, and other typical marine fauna of the Los Lagos region. After about 30 minutes, we'll arrive at the port of Chacao for a brief stroll through town, featuring its picturesque church and main square.

Next, we visit Quemchi, known for its beach named “Commune of 1000 Landscapes” by writer Francisco Coloane. Then, cross a 430-meter (1,410-foot) bridge to Aucar, the “Island of the Sailing Souls.”

We continue to Dalcahue, where we will visit the handicraft market and the church of Nuestra Señora De Los Dolores, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Our last stop is Castro, the island's capital, known for its colorful houses. We will explore the San Francisco church and its handicraft market before returning to Puerto Montt, with an arrival scheduled 12 hours after pickup.
