Lake Llanquihue Villages Tour

At 8:30 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in central Puerto Montt to set off for Lake Llanquihue and explore the villages located on its shores.

The first stop will be the municipality of Llanquihue, known for its cured meats and as the source of the Maullín River. The name derives from the Mapuche language, meaning 'the place where one dives into water'.

Next, we'll continue to Frutillar, a village with Bavarian roots that is recognizable upon arrival. We'll wander through its streets adorned with traditional wooden houses and charming gardens while witnessing its unique German breweries. Be sure to admire the Avant-garde Teatro del Lago theatre, which is quite impressive. If interested, there's an option to visit the German Colonial Museum to learn about the first Teutonic settlers in the region.

Our journey includes a visit to the village of Puerto Octay, located on the northern banks, showcasing iconic traditional German architecture. As we explore its squares, we'll delve into its economic history as the first port to export agricultural products to Osorno.

Finally, we will begin our return to Puerto Montt, where we expect to arrive around 2 pm.
