Discover the famous wetlands of the Amazon River with a boat ride on the Tarapoto lakes. You'll sail over a mile to the Ramsar biosphere reserve to see various fauna and flora.

Tarapoto Lakes Boat Trip

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Nariño for a boat trip through the picturesque lakes of Tarapoto. We'll start by sailing just over a mile down the Loretoyacu River to the Tarapoto wetlands system. This area is a biosphere reserve home to river dolphins, crocodiles, and anacondas. If we're lucky, we may see some of these creatures.

Once we reach the Ramsar reserve, we'll follow one of the tributaries of the Amazon River into the flooded forest. From there, we'll drift into the main lake and stop on its shores to enjoy a snack and take a dip in the waters.

After a 4-hour boat ride, we'll return to Puerto Nariño and drop you off at the dock.
