Discover the natural jewels of the inland Dominican Republic with this river trekking route through Los Tinajones. Have a blast surrounded by nature!

Los Tinajones River Trekking

At 8 am, pick-up is available at your hotel in Puerto Plata or Plaza Popular in Cabarete. The journey will lead to a natural environment in the interior of the Dominican Republic.

Before arrival, there will be a stop in a town to learn about the preparation of the artisanal local product, 'Rodaos de Marcela'. Following this, the group will proceed to the Los Tinajones trail to begin the aquatic adventure.

Once equipped, the trek will commence through rocks and canyons, revealing hidden waterfalls. Participants can take part in jumping into the area’s jar-like natural pools, explore caves with aquifers, and enjoy the natural slides formed by erosion.

A break will be taken to rest and enjoy a snack consisting of cheese, rodao, and juice. Following this break, the journey continues through a dense tropical forest featuring cedar, walnut, and ceiba trees.

At approximately 1:30 pm, a visit to a local family home will provide a chance to enjoy a traditional meal including rice and beans. Following the meal, the return journey to Puerto Plata will begin, with an expected arrival at 4 pm.
