Description
We'll meet at the scheduled time in front of the CESEP headquarters to begin our cycling tour of Puerto Plata. The tour will start with a bike ride through shaded streets, where coffee made from beans grown in the Yaroa highlands will be served.
Afterwards, we'll cycle towards Parque Independencia, passing down Callejón Rosado, and seeing Victorian-style houses leading to San Felipe Cathedral.
The tour includes a visit to the Puerto Plata Amber Museum, where participants will learn about Dominican amber, renowned for its quality and featured in a Jurassic Park filming set.
Next, we'll proceed to the fire station and Murales y Chichiguas Street, known for its vibrant colors. The term "Chichiguas" refers to paper kites in Dominican culture.
Participants will stop at Puerto Plata Cigar to understand the significance of Dominican tobacco and coffee. The final segment involves cycling along the Malecon to admire stunning views of the Atlantic, concluding at Puntilla de Puerto Plata to explore San Felipe Fortress, including its museum for one hour.
The cycling tour lasts 3 hours and will finish by returning to the starting point.
