On this cycling tour around Puerto Plata, we will explore the historic center, visiting the Amber Museum and San Felipe Fortress.
Description
We will meet at the scheduled time in front of the CESEP headquarters to begin our cycling tour of Puerto Plata. Our ride will begin along the shaded streets, enjoying a coffee made from beans grown in the Yaroa highlands.
We will then pedal towards the iconic Parque Independencia, passing down Callejón Rosado and viewing Victorian-style houses before reaching the San Felipe Cathedral.
At the Puerto Plata Amber Museum, we will learn about Dominican amber, known for its quality, and its role as a filming location for Jurassic Park.
Next, we will head towards the fire station and Murales y Chichiguas Street, where the term "Chichiguas" refers to paper kites.
We will stop at Puerto Plata Cigar to understand the significance of Dominican tobacco and coffee. Finally, we will cycle along the Malecon to see views of the Atlantic, concluding at the Puntilla de Puerto Plata to explore San Felipe Fortress and its museum for one hour.
After 3 hours, we will return to the starting point, concluding the tour.
