Puerto Plata Food Tour

At 9 am, we'll meet at General Gregorio Luperón Avenue to begin a food tour of Puerto Plata. We'll taste some of its most traditional flavors while learning about the culture and history of the city.

The first destination will be Puerto Plata's most popular market, where we'll discover exotic fruits, vegetables, the spices used on the island, and how tobacco is grown. Next, we'll visit a community gallery showcasing jewelry made with the national gemstone, Larimar.

Continuing the tour, we'll learn about the country's religion and the famous Dominican voodoo. Then, we'll enter the historic district, filled with traditional barbershops and food stalls. We'll taste the famous chulitos made of yucca and stuffed with meat or cheese and enjoy handmade ice cream in the main square.

Additionally, we'll visit the Casa Museo Gregorio Luperón to learn about the history of Puerto Plata. The tour will conclude with a traditional Dominican lunch at the home of a local family, where we'll savor Caribbean specialties.

The tour will end at 1 pm at the starting point.
