The Taino Valley tour offers an opportunity to explore the Dominican Republic’s indigenous nature and culture while enjoying a guided tour of Puerto Plata.
Tour Details
The adventure begins with pickup at the Puerto Plata cruise port or your hotel. Following the pickup, we embark on a journey to Taino Valley Tropical Park, an ecological reserve with diverse vegetation and trails. During the park visit, participants will see statues of ancient Taino gods and learn about their cultural significance.
Next, we visit the Taino Valley viewpoint for panoramic views and continue to fruit plantations to taste fresh fruits. Following this, we explore the Dominican coffee route to understand the coffee production process. Participants will enjoy freshly brewed coffee and learn about Dominican tobacco and the cigar-making process.
The tour continues with a stop at the Casa Colonial for lunch, after which we will head to Puerto Plata. Here, we will visit the San Felipe Fortress, the Amber Museum, and Independence Square, which features an impressive Cathedral. Additionally, participants will stroll along Rose Street and through the street of umbrellas.
The tour concludes with a drop-off at the original pickup point after a 7-hour experience.
