The Taino Valley tour provides an opportunity to explore the Dominican Republic’s indigenous nature and culture, along with a guided tour of Puerto Plata to discover its history and landmarks.
Tour Details
The adventure starts with a pickup at the Puerto Plata cruise port or your hotel. We’ll travel to Taino Valley Tropical Park, an ecological reserve featuring lush trails and statues of ancient Taino gods that highlight their cultural significance.
We will visit the Taino Valley viewpoint for panoramic views of the valley, followed by a stop at fruit plantations to taste fresh fruits. The tour includes exploring the Dominican coffee route, where participants learn about coffee production and savor a freshly brewed cup, along with insights into Dominican tobacco and cigar-making.
Next, we will dine at the Casa Colonial and continue to Puerto Plata to visit the San Felipe Fortress for views of the Caribbean Sea and historical context. The tour also features the Amber Museum and Independence Square, which includes the Cathedral, Rose Street, and the street of umbrellas.
Finally, we will return to the pickup point after a 7-hour experience.
