Santiago de Los Caballeros Day Trip
At the scheduled time, we will pick you up at your hotel in Puerto Plata. We will depart for Santiago de los Caballeros on a minibus. After a 75-minute journey, we will arrive in this city, which has more than 2 million inhabitants. The first stop will be at a local ceramic factory to learn about the process of making the Dominican faceless dolls.
Next, we will walk to the city's epicenter, Cerro del Castillo, where the Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration is located. We will discuss its history while admiring the significance of the site. Afterwards, we will enjoy a traditional Dominican meal.
As we explore Santiago, we will pass notable buildings such as the Eduardo León Jimenes Cultural Centre and Centro León, a museum dedicated to Dominican culture and art. Additionally, we will visit La Aurora cigar factory, one of the largest in the country, to learn about its evolution and products.
Before departing Santiago, we will stroll along Sol Street and browse its shops. We will then return to the minibus for the journey back to your hotel in Puerto Plata, concluding the 9-hour excursion.
