The island of Chiloé is a notable destination in Chile. On the Chacao, Ancud & the Beaches of Chiloé Trip, participants will explore its cities, the Puñihuil islets, and possibly observe some penguins.

Chacao, Ancud & the Beaches of Chiloé Trip

After hotel pickup, the tour begins in the village of Pargua, from where a ferry will take guests to Chiloé. During the ferry ride, participants will appreciate the landscapes of the Chacao Channel and might see wildlife such as pelicans and sea lions. Upon arrival, the group will stroll through Chacao, observing its traditional larch wood houses and churches, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The route includes a visit to Caulín, a northern coastal bay known for its beaches, oysters, pearl farms, and rich marine life. Afterwards, a boat trip to the Puñihuil Islets will provide opportunities to see both Magellanic and Humboldt penguins, the only location where these species coexist. Information about the penguins' lifestyle and abundant food sources in the area will be shared.

The tour proceeds to Ancud, the island's capital until 1982, where guests will visit the Regional Museum and San Antonio Fort to learn about Chiloé's history. One hour of free time will be allotted for lunch in Ancud, with local market options available. The total duration of the tour is 11 hours, concluding with the return to the hotel.
