The island of Chiloé is a notable destination in Chile. The Chacao, Ancud & the Beaches of Chiloé Trip includes visits to its cities, the Puñihuil islets, and the possibility of seeing penguins.

The tour begins with hotel pickup, followed by travel to the village of Pargua. From there, a ferry will take us to Chiloé Island.

During the ferry crossing, participants can view landscapes along the Chacao Channel and observe local wildlife such as pelicans and sea lions. On arrival, we will explore Chacao, known for its houses and churches made of larch wood, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Next, we will visit Caulín, a bay famous for oysters, pearl farms, and marine wildlife. Following this, a boat excursion to the Puñihuil Islets offers a chance to see both Magellanic and Humboldt penguins, the only location in the world where these two species coexist.

The tour then proceeds to Ancud, the island's capital until 1982. We will visit the Regional Museum and San Antonio Fort to learn about Chiloé’s history during the Chilean War of Independence.

Participants will have 1 hour of free time for lunch in Ancud, where the municipal market offers various local cuisine options. The return to your hotel is scheduled for 11 hours after departure.

Hotel Pickup

The trip includes pickup from central hotels in Puerto Varas and Puerto Montt. If staying in other areas, participants should meet at the Casino de Juegos (Del Salvador 21, 5550206 Puerto Varas, Los Lagos). This activity is not available for cruise passengers due to port pickup limitations.
