Details of the Day Trip

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Puerto Varas at 8 am, as we make our way to the port for a delightful cruise along the Chacao Canal. This region is renowned for its diverse birdlife, so keep your eyes peeled for various species during our passage!

After approximately 30 minutes of sailing, we will dock at the port of Chacao on Chiloé Island. Here, you will encounter the charming church and the vibrant main square. Continuing our exploration, we will visit the town of Castro, famous for its colorful houses that add to the town's unique character.

You will have the opportunity to see the remarkable wooden houses supported by stilts, known as the Gamboa River Palafitos Stilt Houses. These houses, located above the water, showcase an exceptional architectural style that is sure to captivate you.

Our journey will then take us to visit one of the most beautiful wooden churches on the island, the Church of Nercón, a site recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our final stop will be at Dalcahue, a delightful town where you can explore the craft market and, depending on availability, the Ethnographic Historic Museum. Here, you will enjoy an hour of free time to relax and enjoy lunch.

After our day of exploration on Chiloé Island, we will return to Puerto Varas, where you will be dropped off at your hotel around 7 pm.

The tour provides pickup from selected hotels in Puerto Varas, including Bellavista, Cabaña del Lago, Casa Kalfu, Cumbres, Dreams de Los Volcanes, Park Inn, Puelche, Radisson, Solace, Enjoy, and Puerto Chico. Guests staying elsewhere will need to make their own way to Calle del Salvador 72.
