Tour of Carretera Austral Villages
Between 7:30 and 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel and drive to the small village of Caleta La Arena. Once there, we'll board a ferry boat to cross the Reloncaví estuary towards the Carretera Austral.
After a 35-minute crossing, we'll disembark at Caleta Puelche and begin the route along the Carretera Austral, a 745.5-mile (1,200-km) road connecting this town with Villa O'Higgins. This road is known for its ancient larch forests, volcanoes, glaciers, and fjords.
During the excursion, we'll drive the initial stretch of the road, visiting various villages while observing the flora and fauna of the Carretera Austral. The tour includes bus rides and short hikes to explore this part of Chilean Patagonia.
We'll visit villages like Caleta Pichicolo and Hornopirén, and hike through native forests to see the Rio Negro waterfalls and a stratovolcano of 5,157.5 ft (1,572 meters) altitude.
After arriving at Hornopirén, our final destination, we'll start our way back and finish the excursion by dropping you off at your hotel around 7 pm.
