Carretera Austral Village Tour

Your day begins with a pick-up from your hotel between 7:30 and 8 am, followed by a drive to the tranquil village of Caleta La Arena. Here, we will board a ferry that will transport us across the Reloncaví estuary, leading us onto the Carretera Austral.

After a scenic 35-minute ferry ride, we will arrive at Caleta Puelche and commence our journey along the renowned Carretera Austral, a remarkable 745.5-mile (1,200-km) roadway linking this area to Villa O'Higgins. This route showcases breathtaking views, from ancient larch forests and imposing volcanoes to majestic glaciers and dramatic fjords, making it one of the most spectacular roadways in the world.

During the tour, we'll navigate the initial segment** of this iconic road, stopping at various villages and observing the unique flora and fauna that thrive along the way. You will partake in a combination of bus travel and short hikes, immersing yourself in the beauty of this part of Chilean Patagonia.

In addition to exploring spots like Caleta Pichicolo and Hornopirén, we will also take in the stunning natural landscapes. Experience hikes through native forests to see highlights such as the Rio Negro waterfalls and a towering stratovolcano rising to 5,157.5 ft (1,572 meters)!

Upon reaching Hornopirén, our final stop, we will begin our return journey, concluding the excursion with a drop-off back at your hotel by approximately 7 pm.
