Tour of Carretera Austral Villages

Admire the incredible landscapes of the Chilean Patagonia on this tour through the villages of the Carretera Austral. We'll travel along the country's most famous road visiting some of its main villages, such as Pichicolo and Hornopirén.

Tour of Carretera Austral Villages

Between 7:30 and 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel and drive to the village of Caleta La Arena. There, we'll board a ferry boat across the Reloncaví estuary towards the Carretera Austral.

After a 35-minute crossing, we'll disembark at Caleta Puelche and begin our route along the Carretera Austral, a 745.5-mile (1,200-km) road connecting this area with Villa O'Higgins. This road features larch forests, volcanoes, glaciers, and fjords.

On this excursion, we'll explore the initial stretch of the road, visiting different villages while observing the flora and fauna. The tour combines bus rides with short hikes to explore the region of Chilean Patagonia.

In addition to visiting villages like Caleta Pichicolo and Hornopirén, we'll hike through native forests to see the Rio Negro waterfalls and a stratovolcano at an altitude of 5,157.5 ft (1,572 meters).

After arriving at Hornopirén, we'll start our way back, concluding the excursion with a return to your hotel around 7 pm.
