The capital of the Los Ríos region is one of Chile's historically significant cities. Embark on this adventure to Valdivia and uncover its remarkable cultural heritage that will undoubtedly impress you.

Private Excursion to Valdivia

Your journey begins with a pickup from your hotel at 8 am. From this point, we will bid farewell to the Los Lagos region as we head to Valdivia, named after the Spanish explorer Pedro de Valdivia, who established the city in 1522.

Our exploration of Valdivia commences with a stroll along Avenida Arturo Pratt, featuring a scenic waterfront alongside the Calle-Calle River. Here, we will explore the Feria Fluvial, a vibrant riverside market where you can take in stunning views of both the History and Contemporary Art Museums situated on the opposite bank.

After enjoying some free time at the Feria Fluvial, where refreshments are available, we will proceed along the main thoroughfare, Avenida General Lagos. This extensive road takes us through the oldest part of the city, culminating at the Torreón del Canelo, an ancient watchtower erected by the Spanish.

Next, we will delve into the historic center of Valdivia, standing beside the notable Church of San Francisco. Our route continues to Plaza de la República, known as the city's Plaza de Armas, where the impressive cathedral façade and the seat of government can be admired. We will then cross the Calle-Calle River via the Pedro de Valdivia Bridge to reach Teja Island.

Venturing southward on the island, we will arrive at the quaint village of Niebla, where the Valdivia River converges with the Pacific Ocean. This strategic estuary prompted the construction of the castle of Niebla by the Spaniards. Within this historic fortification, we will visit the museum to discover the fascinating tale of this crucial defense outpost.

Our expedition will conclude with a return to your hotel, marking the end of the experience approximately eleven hours after pickup.
