The free tour of Pula begins at Trg Forum, where we will admire the exterior of the Town Hall and the Temple of Augustus. Participants will learn about the significance of this temple in ancient Roman times.
We will proceed to Pula Castle for views of the port city and pause at the Statue of James Joyce, exploring the Irish writer's connections to the area. We will then pass under the ancient Serbian Arch, which is approximately 2,000 years old.
During our exploration, we will see more historical sites, including the Twin and Hercules Gates. Nearby, we will visit the Arena of Pula, a remarkable Roman amphitheater reminiscent of the Colosseum.
The tour lasts 2 hours and will conclude at Tito's Park, where we will discuss Croatia's Yugoslav past.
