Hiking + Caving in Los Gigantes

When you make your reservation, you can choose between one of the following itineraries, which vary by trail length and activity location. We will meet at the scheduled time on the RP28 Route of Los Gigantes.

Hiking and Caving in the La Bestia River

This option involves a 12-kilometer (7.5 miles) hike with a medium-high difficulty, taking approximately 9 hours. We will ascend to an altitude of 1600 meters (5,250 feet), with stops for rest, views of the province of Cordoba, and your picnic lunch.

We start in the Batán ravine and enter the underground river La Bestia. Here, we will descend 72 meters (236 feet), navigate waterfalls, narrow passages, and five chambers. A 35-meter-long section (114 feet) requires swimming through walls no more than 60 centimeters (2 feet) wide.

The activity concludes back at the meeting point.

Hiking and Caving in the Toro Gorge

This itinerary features a 14-kilometer (8.7-mile) hiking route with medium-high difficulty, reaching a maximum altitude of 2100 meters (6,900 feet) over 8 to 9 hours. We will also make stops to rest and enjoy the landscapes of Cordoba.

The trail along the eastern slope of the Toro ravine leads to a cave where we descend to the underground waterfall of El Toro to a depth of 40 meters (131 feet), covering 120 meters (400 feet). This location features the second-largest underground waterfall on the planet.

After this adventure, we will return to the meeting point to conclude our tour.
