Colca Canyon 2-Day Tour

Day 1: Puno - Chivay

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Puno between 6:15 and 6:30 am and head to Chivay, approximately 300 kilometers (186 miles) away. The journey includes crossing the altiplano, where we will observe wetlands, lagoons, streams, and wildlife such as vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas, along with various bird species including flamingos.

We’ll continue to Patahuasi, entering the Colca Canyon. The route includes a stop at the volcanoes viewpoint at 4,910 meters (over 16,100 feet). Around 1 to 1:30 pm, we’ll arrive at a hotel in Chivay for lunch on your own. Dinner and overnight stay will also be at this hotel. You may use the free time after lunch to explore Chivay or enjoy the local thermal baths.

Day 2: Chivay - Cruz del Condor - Chivay - Arequipa

After breakfast, we will take you to the Cruz del Condor, a major viewpoint of the Colca Canyon, where you will have two hours to enjoy the landscape and possibly see condors. We’ll return to Chivay via Pinchollo, Maca, and Yanque, crossing terraces and archaeological sites of the canyon. Upon arrival in Chivay, you’ll have an hour for lunch. At around 1 pm, we will depart for Arequipa, with an expected arrival between 4:30 and 5 pm.

Accommodation

This tour includes one night of accommodation with breakfast in Chivay. Options include:

Accommodation is provided in a double room for all options.

Hotel Pickup

Pickup is available from hotels in the center of Puno. If your hotel is on the outskirts, proceed to Calle Jiron Arequipa near Plaza de Armas. Pickup is not available from select hotels such as GHL Lago Titicaca and others specified.
