Discover a pre-Incan cemetery and learn about Peru’s ancient cultures on this day trip to Sillustani from Puno.

Tour Details

After pickup from your hotel, we’ll head northeast for approximately 45 minutes to the archaeological site of Sillustani. Situated on the shores of Lake Umayo, at 13,123 feet (4,000 meters) above sea level, you’ll admire the chullpas, tombs constructed above ground in tower-like forms. Many of these pre-Inca structures appear to defy gravity, having a greater diameter at the top than at the bottom.

While exploring Sillustani, you’ll uncover the secrets of the ancient Colla culture and their funeral rituals. You’ll also enjoy views of Lake Umayo, which is sacred to local cultures. After exploring Sillustani, we’ll return to your hotel in Puno, completing the tour in approximately three and a half hours.
