On this excursion to the Gothic City of Macusani, we'll visit one of the amazing places in Peru and hike through its stone forest!

Gothic City of Macusani Excursion

At 3 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Puno to start this excursion. The early start will be worth it.

We'll travel for 3.5 hours to reach the Abra Oquepuño, located over 4,500 meters above sea level. Here, we'll enjoy views of the Macusani Valley and make a small offering to the Pachamama.

Next, we'll go to the town of Macusani for breakfast. Afterward, we'll visit the Kallahuaya Local Museum to learn about the region's cultures.

Before leaving Macusani, we'll see the main square and the monument to San Martin, gaining insight into its significance. Then, we will proceed to the Gothic City, located 4,815 meters above sea level.

Once there, we will embark on a 2-hour hike to explore this stone forest formed by eroded rocks, some resembling temples or castles. We will have a picnic lunch in this area. Afterward, we'll hike back to the starting point and conclude the day at the thermal baths of the enchanted lagoon, where you may enjoy a relaxing bath.

Finally, we will return you to your hotel in Puno between 9 and 10 pm.
