La Paz & Tiwanaku Day Trip

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Puno at the indicated time and head towards the border between Peru and Bolivia, located in Desaguadero. After crossing into Bolivia, we'll continue to the capital.

After a 1-hour journey, we'll arrive at the archaeological site of Tiwanaku, known for significant pre-Columbian constructions: the temple of Kalasasaya, the pyramid of Akapana, and the Gate of the Sun. We’ll observe the ceremonial vessels known as 'Queros' and walls adorned with Huaco-portraits. During our visit, we’ll learn about the Tiwanaku empire that extended to Lake Titicaca.

Next, we'll travel for another hour to La Paz. Here, we'll take a guided visit to colonial quarters, including 16 de Julio Avenue and Mariscal Santa Cruz Avenue. We'll explore the historic centre, visiting the 16th-century church of San Francisco, the neoclassical cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Paz, and Plaza Murillo.

We will continue our trip to the convent of Santo Domingo and the Witches' Market, known for its mystical and esoteric items. Following this, we'll cross the border back to Peru and drop you off at your hotel in Puno after 10 to 11 hours.
