With this Day Trip from Puno, you'll discover the cultural and historical centre of Bolivia, exploring La Paz and Tiwanaku.

La Paz & Tiwanaku Day Trip

Pickup will be from your hotel in Puno at the indicated time, followed by a trip to the Peru-Bolivia border in Desaguadero. After crossing into Bolivia, we will proceed towards the capital.

After a 1-hour journey, we will reach the archaeological site of Tiwanaku, an essential pre-Columbian cultural site. You will see significant structures including the temple of Kalasasaya, the pyramid of Akapana, and the Gate of the Sun. During this visit, we will discuss the Tiwanaku empire's historical impact extending through the central Andes to Lake Titicaca.

Next, we will travel for 1 hour to La Paz. The guided visit includes the colonial quarter, 16 de Julio Avenue, and Mariscal Santa Cruz Avenue. The tour will also visit San Francisco Church, the neoclassical cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Paz, and Plaza Murillo.

We will then explore the convent of Santo Domingo and the Witches' Market, known for its mystical objects. The trip concludes with a return across the border to Peru, with drop-off at your hotel in Puno after 10 to 11 hours.
