Explore Puno
At the scheduled time, we will collect you from your hotel to kick off our exploration of Puno. Gear up to uncover the wonders of this vibrant city situated by Lake Titicaca.
The adventure begins with a guided stroll to the Arch of Independence or Deusta, a tribute to the heroes of the Junin and Ayacucho battles. Close to this landmark, we'll ascend the small hill of Wajsapata, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the bay of Puno along with a sculpture representing Manco Cápac, the founder of the Inca Empire.
Our journey continues through Pino Park, leading us to the historic core of Puno. Here, we will visit the San Juan Church, home to the revered image of the Virgin of Candelaria.
We will then make our way to Lima Boulevard, one of the city's bustling commercial streets, until we arrive at the Plaza de Armas. In this prominent square, you will find the cathedral and the Count of Lemos balcony, located in the residence of the viceroy since his arrival in Puno in 1668.
Following our exploration, we will hop on a bus heading to the Yavari Museum Ship, a historic 19th-century gunboat that once served in the Peruvian Navy. This vessel was constructed in an English shipyard and transported to Lake Titicaca.
While at the museum, we will delve into the intriguing history of this iron ship, which proudly holds the title of Peru's first museum ship.
To wrap up our 4-hour excursion, we will return you to your hotel in Puno.
