Puno Day Tour
At the agreed time, pickup will be arranged from your hotel to start the Puno tour, an impressive city located on the shores of Lake Titicaca.
The tour begins with a guided walk of the Arch of Independence or Deusta, commemorating the patriots of the battles of Junin and Ayacucho. Nearby is the viewpoint of Wajsapata, a hill offering a view of the bay of Puno and a sculpture of Manco Cápac, the founder of the Inca Empire.
Next, we will proceed through Pino park towards the historic center of Puno, stopping at the church of San Juan, which contains the image of the Virgin of Candelaria.
Following this, the tour will lead us to Lima Boulevard, a commercial street, and then to the Plaza de Armas, where we will see the cathedral and the balcony of the Count of Lemos from his residence upon arrival in Puno in 1668.
After this visit, we will board a bus to the Yavari Museum Ship, a 19th century gunboat belonging to the Peruvian Navy. The ship, built in England, was transported to Lake Titicaca.
The museum visit will provide insight into the history of this iron vessel, recognized as the first museum ship in Peru. To conclude the 4-hour tour, we will return you to your hotel in Puno.
