Explore the famous 'Route of the Sun' from Puno to Cusco, visiting places such as Andahuaylillas, Raqchi, and Pukara.

Description

The Ruta del Sol in southern Peru offers a captivating experience of the history, landscapes, and cuisine of the Andes. The journey begins at Avenida Costanera with Jr. Lampa, proceeding to the town of Pukara.

At the Pukara interpretation center, learn about the ancient Andean people and see the Pukara bulls, clay figures symbolizing protection and prosperity. Next, a brief stop at La Raya pass provides photo opportunities at over 4300 meters above sea level.

A local restaurant offers a buffet lunch followed by a visit to the archaeological site of Raqchi, home to the remains of the ancient temple of the deity Wiracocha.

After the guided tour of Raqchi, the journey continues to Andahuaylillas, where the church of San Pedro Apóstol, known as the "Sistine Chapel of America", will be visited. The tour concludes in Cusco at 5 PM at the meeting point.
