Trip to the Uros Islands & Taquile

Sail across the waters of Lake Titicaca and discover local traditions on the floating Uros Islands and Taquile Island.

Tour Details

We will pick you up from your hotel at the designated time and head to the port in Puno. Here, we will board a speedboat on Lake Titicaca, situated at 12,500 feet (3,810 meters) above sea level.

The first destination is the floating Uros Islands. We will explore one of the main islands and meet the Uru people, who will share insights about their pre-Inca culture and the artificial archipelago they inhabit, made from Totora plants.

Next, we will sail to Taquile Island, enjoying scenic lake and mountain views. Upon arrival, we will learn about the weaving techniques used by the locals to create their famous textiles.

After the visit, there will be an optional traditional lunch before departing the islands. The total duration of the tour is 8 hours, after which you will be dropped off at your hotel in Puno.

This tour includes pickup from hotels in the center of Puno. If staying elsewhere, please make your way to the meeting point at Jiron Arequipa Street, near Plaza de Armas, at the scheduled time.
