Discover the secrets of one of the oldest cultures on the American continent by visiting the amazing Uros Islands, an incredible handmade floating town on Lake Titicaca.

Tour Details

If you go to Puno, it's probably to visit the famous Lake Titicaca; the world's highest navigable lake. This tour allows you to see the lake and visit its remarkable floating islands.

The tour starts with pickup from your hotel in Puno and heading to the port. You will board a boat and sail on the lake for approximately one hour. About 60% of the lake is in Peru, while 40% is in Bolivia, providing incredible views.

You will soon reach the floating islands, constructed by the Uru people from layers of cut totora, a buoyant reed that grows abundantly in the lake's shallows. The Uros continue to harvest and add these reeds. You'll learn about the island construction and the traditional lifestyle of the Uru people before sailing back to the port of Puno and returning to your hotel.
