San Lucas Island National Park Day Trip

When booking, choose between two day trips to San Lucas Island National Park. Both trips start at the ICT tourist dock in Puntarenas and include speedboat transfers, a guide, tickets, and lunch.

San Lucas Island tour (6 hours 30 minutes)

Meet at the location for a safety briefing before departing on a speedboat through the Gulf of Nicoya and Puntarenas mangrove forest. Spot dolphins during the crossing as we approach San Lucas Island. Upon arrival, partake in a historical and nature tour, visiting the chapel and the old San Lucas Island prison. Following this, travel to Esmerelda Beach, where you'll have 2 hours and 30 minutes to relax and enjoy lunch with traditional local dishes. Return to the Puntarenas dock by 3 pm.

San Lucas, Negritos and Cedros Islands tour (8 hours 30 minutes)

For this option, embark on a journey through the Gulf of Nicoya, spotting dolphins and observing mangroves. Upon reaching San Lucas Island, enjoy a guided tour and learn about the chapel and old prison. Next, an albatross watching tour will precede a visit to Negritos Island Biological Reserve to see monkeys in their habitat. Proceed to Cedros Island for 2 hours of free time and lunch with options of chicken, tuna, or whole fried fish. Return to the dock in Puntarenas by 4 pm.
