The Roman Villas Museum in Puras is a 50-minute drive from Valladolid. The museum consists of three main spaces: the interpretation centre, the archaeological sites of the Roman villa of Almenara-Puras, and a recreation of a villa.
In the first section, learn about life in the countryside during the Roman Empire, exploring daily activities and beliefs, along with various archaeological pieces from local excavations. Next, visit the archaeological sites featuring the remains of 30 rooms and 400 square metres of preserved mosaics from the 4th century stately home. The final space includes a full-scale reconstruction of a Roman villa, providing insight into the area’s historical context.
