Explore the high valleys of northern Argentina when you take this fantastic trip from Purmamarca. You'll visit the picturesque town of Iruya along the way.

Iruya Trip

At the indicated time, we'll leave from your hotel in Purmamarca and head to the high-altitude valleys of northern Argentina. This area features a transitional environment between the desert and the Argentinean jungle.

We'll travel around 2.5 miles through complex geography with abundant resources. Along the way, we'll explain how the ancient inhabitants cultivated food on terraces that captured mountain water.

After learning about this original cultivation system, we'll arrive in the town of Iruya. The town is situated between hills and rivers, providing an interesting setting. We will walk through its steep stone streets to discover its attractions.

We'll explore its historic centre and visit the parish church located on a hill that offers views of the entire town. From the famous Mirador del Cóndor viewpoint, we'll take in the views of the valley.

At the end of the tour, you will have one hour to enjoy the local gastronomy. After lunch, we will return to your hotel in Purmamarca, arriving approximately eight hours after the start time.
