At the indicated time, we'll leave from your hotel in Purmamarca and head to the high-altitude valleys of northern Argentina.

We'll travel around 2.5 miles through a transitional environment between the desert and the Argentine jungle, an area of complex geography and resources. Along the way, we'll discuss how ancient inhabitants cultivated food on terraces that collected descending water.

After this overview, we'll proceed to the town of Iruya. You'll be intrigued by its settings among hills and rivers. A walk through its steep stone streets will reveal various charms.

We'll explore the historic centre and visit the parish church, situated on a hill with views of the town. From the Mirador del Cóndor, we will admire the valley views.

After the tour of Iruya, you'll have one hour to enjoy the local gastronomy. Following lunch, we will return to your hotel in Purmamarca, arriving eight hours after the start time.
