Purmamarca Hiking Activity at Night

At 7 pm, we will start our hiking activity from the Church of Purmamarca in the province of Jujuy. During the hike, participants will learn about local culture and traditions while enjoying the Andean night sky.

The hike begins in front of the church, where we will explore the historical significance of the quebradeña culture, shaped over more than 10,000 years. We will pass by the cemetery of Purmamarca to delve into traditions related to the celebrations of the dead held every November.

Participants will also encounter various archaeological findings that illuminate Purmamarca's history. While observing the stars, we will discuss stories tied to Andean cosmovision.

Throughout the hike, we will talk about the ancestral knowledge of the Purmamarca people, who have guided travelers through the Chakana and surrounding hills for generations.

The hike concludes back at the meeting point at 9 pm, where participants can say their goodbyes.
