Salinas Grandes Tour

Discover the vast white desert of the Salinas Grandes on this tour from Purmamarca. We'll explore some of the most stunning Andean landscapes in Argentina.

Description

Pickup from Purmamarca will occur between 10:15 am and 10:30 am. We will depart towards the Salinas Grandes, noted as one of the largest salt flats in South America and a highly photographed site in northwest Argentina.

As we navigate the steep trails up the Lipán, Saladillo, and Abra de Potrerillos hills, participants can take in the panoramic views of Purmamarca's rugged landscapes and observe local wildlife, including vicuñas and llamas.

Upon reaching the Salinas Grandes at an altitude of approximately 3,450 meters above sea level, participants can enjoy the vast salt flat against the blue skies. We will spend 45 minutes exploring the site while learning about its history and formation before returning to Purmamarca.

After the tour, there will be an hour of free time for lunch or local exploration before regrouping for the return trip to Purmamarca, arriving around 3:30 pm.
