Salinas Grandes Tour

Discover the vast white desert of the Salinas Grandes on this tour from Purmamarca. We'll explore some of the stunning Andean landscapes in Argentina.

Description

We'll pick you up from Purmamarca between 10:15 am and 10:30 am and set off to the Salinas Grandes. These salt flats are among the largest in South America and are one of the most photographed places in northwest Argentina.

Following the trails up the Lipán, Saladillo, and Abra de Potrerillos hills, we'll enjoy panoramic views of the landscapes of Purmamarca. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, such as vicuñas and llamas.

Upon reaching Salinas Grandes, located at an average altitude of 3,450 meters above sea level, you'll see the endless white desert stretching out before us, creating a striking contrast against the blue skies. We'll spend 45 minutes in Salinas Grandes, learning about its history and formation, before returning to Purmamarca. You'll have one hour of free time for lunch or to explore the town.

Meeting back up, we'll head back to Purmamarca, arriving at around 3:30 pm.
