Yavi and Quiaca Trip

After picking you up from your hotel in Purmamarca at 9 am, we will take National Route 9 to the most northern area of Argentina.

We will travel through the landscapes of the Argentinean Puna until we reach the town of Yavi. Here, we will explore the historic center, which includes the House of the Marquis of Tojo, the water mill, and the church of San Francisco de Asis. Inside this temple, we will see a gold laminated altar, notable for the region's sacred art.

At the end of the tour of Yavi, we will climb to the Cerro de los Ocho Hermanos (Hill of Eight Brothers) to view the municipality and the nearby Laguna Colorada.

We will continue the excursion at La Quiaca, a border town between Argentina and Bolivia. We will cross sections of the International Bridge of Villazón on the Argentinean side and discuss the history of this link between the two nations.

You will then have one hour free for lunch in La Quiaca (not included) - an opportunity to enjoy Argentinean and Bolivian cuisine! After lunch, we will return to your hotel in Purmamarca, arriving at 6 pm.
