Your journey begins at 7 am with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Putre. We will proceed to Lauca National Park, climbing to an impressive 14,271 feet (4,350 meters) in elevation. This breathtaking altitude unveils the remarkable views of the Cotacotani Lagoons and their majestic volcanic backdrops.

The trek commences at the lagoon's viewpoint, where the expansive vista of the Chilean Altiplano extends toward the adjacent Bolivian border. This unique habitat is home to a variety of wildlife, including serene alpacas and elegant vicuñas.

As you navigate the paths around the Cotacotani Lagoons, your gaze will be drawn to the looming Parinacota and Pomerape volcanoes. These towering summits, reaching altitudes over 19,685 feet (6,000 meters), contribute to the dramatic scenery of Lauca National Park. A highlight of our trek will be a stop in the conserved area near Cotacotani for an opportunity to soak in the pristine environment.

We will break for a delightful picnic lunch on the lagoon's shore, featuring an array of sandwiches, dried fruits, nuts, chocolates, and refreshing natural juices. After replenishing our energy, we will continue exploring the stunning surroundings of the lagoons.

Our hike will cover approximately 6 miles (9 to 10 kilometers), concluding at the original meeting point. Following the trek, we will transport you back to your hotel in Putre, with an anticipated arrival time between 1 and 2 pm.
