Cotacotani Lagoons Hike

Walk through the beautiful area surrounding the Cotacotani Lagoons and explore the volcanic scenery in this part of the Lauca National Park on our hike from Putre. Let's go!

Cotacotani Lagoons Hike

At 7 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Putre and head to the Lauca National Park. We will reach an altitude of 14,271 feet (4,350 metres) to admire the Cotacotani Lagoons and surrounding volcanoes.

The hike will begin from the viewpoint of the lagoons, offering views of the Chilean Altiplano and the Bolivian border. This area is home to various alpacas and vicuñas.

During the hike, you'll see the Parinacota and Pomerape volcanoes, standing over 19,685 feet (6,000 metres). We will stop in the protected area around Cotacotani to appreciate the landscape.

A picnic lunch will be provided, featuring sandwiches, dried fruits, nuts, chocolate, and natural juices. After lunch, we'll continue exploring the Cotacotani Lagoons.

The total distance covered will be approximately 6 miles (9 to 10 kilometres), concluding at the starting point. We will return to your hotel in Putre and drop you off between 1 and 2 pm.
