General Lagos Villages Tour

The tour begins with a pick-up at 6 am from your hotel in Putre. We will head to the northern tip of General Lagos.

After passing through customs controls, we will arrive at the Tripartite Landmark, the meeting point of the borders of Chile, Bolivia, and Peru, where a fair market is held every Sunday offering products from these countries.

Participants will browse the stalls of street vendors and learn about the different goods traded in the Andean Altiplano. We will then go through border control again to return to Chile to continue the tour.

Next, we will visit the town of Visviri to learn about the railway history of the train that used to connect Arica and La Paz. The tour continues to the village of Cosapilla, known for its iconic church, where we will take a break for a picnic lunch including sandwiches, dried fruits, chocolates, and juices.

To conclude, we will visit Caquena to spot llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and other Andean wildlife before returning to your hotel in Putre between 12 and 2 pm.
