Depart from Putre for a 3-day tour through the natural landscapes of Lauca National Park, one of the most beautiful protected areas in northern Chile!

Lauca 3-day Tour

Day 1

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Putre and drive to the caves near the town. After a walk near the caves, we'll visit the Chucuyo viewpoint to admire the landscapes of Lauca National Park, including lagoons and volcanoes. Next, we will explore the town of Parinacota, visiting its church, a National Monument, and the Cotacotani Lagoons. We will also see Chungará Lake. Later, we'll stop at the Chirigualla hot springs, proceed to Chivatambo to learn about charqui, and conclude with dinner and lodging in a rural house.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will visit the vicuña reserve south of Lauca, the Lauca River, and the Surire Salt Flats. We will observe the flamingos at Chinchilleni hill, and stop at the Polloquere hot springs next to the salt flats. A picnic lunch will be provided. We will then visit the ancient village of Guallatire and stay in a rural lodge in Socoroma for the night.

Day 3

After breakfast, we will trek along the Inca Trail and Phusiri Collo, continuing to Zapahuira to see ancient Inca constructions. The journey proceeds to Copaquilla and Mallku to learn about local traditions. We will also explore the Cardones Ravine and see migratory birds in the Lluta wetland, returning to your hotel in Putre in the afternoon.

Accommodation and meals

All stays are in shared rooms in rural houses, with dinner and breakfast included. Accommodations may vary based on availability or weather conditions. Lunches are included and consist of a picnic lunch during midday breaks. The tour includes 2 nights' accommodation in:
