Lauca National Park Day Trip

Explore one of the most beautiful natural areas in northern Chile on our day trip to the Lauca National Park from Putre. You'll admire the altiplano's unique scenery and the volcanoes surrounding it.

At 7 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Putre and drive to the surroundings of the Lauca National Park, located near the Bolivian border. The first stop will be at Lake Chugará, at an altitude of 14,764 feet (4,500 metres). After enjoying the scenery, we'll drive into the heart of the park to view its volcanoes, including Parinacota, Pomerape, and Guallatiri, which exceed 19,685 feet (6,000 metres).

During the tour, you will see alpacas and vicuñas native to the Chilean altiplano. A picnic lunch consisting of sandwiches, dried fruits, chocolate, and juices will be provided. We will then visit the Cotacotani Lagoons and the village of Parinacota, which features a National Monument church. Following this, we'll explore the archaeological sites of Chaku and Las Cuevas.

Lastly, we will stop at the Jurasi Hot Springs, although this part of the tour may be subject to closures. You will be dropped off back at your hotel in Putre between 2 and 3 pm.
