With this hiking route, you'll discover the cave paintings of Willacaurane and visit the sacred Andean mountain of Petacane Apacheta.

Willacaurane & Petacane Apacheta Hike

At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Putre and head towards the Andean foothills of the Chilean altiplano in the North of the country.

We'll make our first stop at 3460 meters above sea level, where we'll begin a hiking route lasting approximately 7 hours. This first segment takes place in Willacaurane, an important archaeological site with rock paintings dated between 4000 and 6000 years old.

After viewing these prehistoric artworks, we will proceed to Petacane Apacheta. At this Andean hill, which frequently hosts religious ceremonies, we will continue our trek to enjoy the mountain scenery.

We'll pause to rest and admire the views while enjoying a picnic with sandwiches, dried fruits, chocolates, and natural juices. After lunch, we'll explore this beautiful natural area of northern Chile.

Finally, we'll return to the starting point and then to your hotel in Putre, with an anticipated arrival time of 6 to 7 hours after pickup.
