If you're in Ho Chi Minh and wish to explore Vietnam's history, join this private tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels with an exclusive guide.
Description
On the activity day, at the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your central hotel in Ho Chi Minh. Then, we will start our trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels.
The scenic 2-hour drive through the Vietnamese countryside provides a glimpse of local life and landscapes. During the journey, the guide will share facts about the region and the historical significance of the Cu Chi Tunnels.
Upon arrival, the guide will give an overview of Cu Chi's history. We will learn about the tunnels' strategic importance during the Vietnam War and the techniques used by the Viet Cong. We will watch a documentary that portrays the intensity of the war in this region from 1955 to 1975.
After the film, we will explore the intricate tunnel system, visiting weapon factories, underground hospitals, and kitchens. Crawling through the narrow tunnels provides insight into the challenges faced by the guerrilla warriors.
After the exploration, we will taste manioc, the staple food of Cu Chi's guerilla fighters.
Finally, after 7 hours, we will conclude the tour and return to the starting point in Ho Chi Minh.
