If you're in Ho Chi Minh and wish to explore Vietnam's history, join this private tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels with a personal guide.
Description
On the activity day, we will pick you up from your central hotel in Ho Chi Minh. The trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels begins with a scenic 2-hour drive through the Vietnamese countryside, during which your guide will share interesting facts about the region and the tunnels' historical significance.
At the Cu Chi Tunnels, your guide will provide an overview of Cu Chi's history, focusing on its strategic importance during the Vietnam War and the tactics used by the Viet Cong. A documentary will be shown to highlight the war's intensity in this area, giving context to the tunnels' construction and the resilience of their builders from 1955 to 1975.
You will explore the intricate tunnel system, visiting weapon factories, underground hospitals, and kitchens. Crawling through the tunnels will offer insight into the challenges faced by the guerilla warriors. This segment of the tour is both thrilling and humbling.
After the tunnel exploration, you will taste manioc, the staple food of Cu Chi's guerilla fighters. After 7 hours, the tour concludes back at the starting point in Ho Chi Minh.
