Spend a full day discovering Vietnam's sights: Hoa Lu, the ancient capital, and Tam Coc's scenery, rice fields, and caves.

Tour Details

Your journey begins with pickup at your hotel in Hanoi at the scheduled time. The trip to the Ninh Binh region lasts two hours with a 20-minute stop for traditional Vietnamese souvenirs like lacquerware, paintings, or embroidery.

Upon arrival in Hoa Lu, you will visit the citadel that was the Vietnamese capital in the 10th century, exploring its temples, pagodas, and notable monuments.

Around midday, you will head to Tam Coc for lunch at a local restaurant. After your meal, a rowboat trip along the Ngo Dong River will allow you to explore the rice fields and view three caves known as 'magic grottoes': Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba, emphasizing the region's historical significance.

After an enriching day of scenery, you will return to Hanoi, arriving at your hotel approximately 11 hours after departure.

Rice Fields in Tam Coc

In Tam Coc, rice is harvested once a year, with sowing in February and harvesting in May, making these months ideal for a visit. However, the area offers stunning views at any time of year.
