One of the most mythical places in Vietnam awaits us on this excursion to the Perfume Pagoda from Hanoi, traveling by boat to this emblematic temple.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi. After a two-and-a-half-hour journey, we'll arrive at the Thien Tru pier where our excursion to the Perfume Pagoda will begin.
We'll board a typical Vietnamese boat for a cruise down the River Yen. After an hour, we'll arrive at the foot of Perfume Mountain and commence a 2.5 km ascent to Huong Tich Cave, part of the Perfume Pagoda complex.
Inside the cave, we'll descend more than 100 steps to reach the Perfume Pagoda, the primary religious site in the region. We will explore its interior decorated with Buddhist art, surrounded by natural formations resembling children, trees, or rice plants.
After visiting the Perfume Cave and Pagoda, you can return down the mountain on foot or by cable car. Following this, we'll enjoy a traditional Vietnamese dish at a nearby restaurant.
Afterward, we'll visit the Thien Tru Pagoda, built in the 18th century and known as the 'celestial kitchen' due to a local legend. Finally, we’ll return by boat along the Yen River to the departure pier and then take the bus back to Hanoi, dropping you off at your hotel 9.5 hours after pickup.
Add the cable car ride
If you select this option, we’ll follow the same itinerary but ascend to the Perfume Pagoda by cable car instead of climbing the steps.
Pickup
This tour only includes pickup from hotels in the historic center of Hanoi, and accommodations within a 5km radius of the historic center. If you’re outside this area, you will need to make your way to the meeting point at 47 Hang Bong Street.
