Traveling to Duong Lam Ancient Village is a great option for those who would like to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and are looking for a peaceful countryside with fresh air.
The village is located in outskirt of Hanoi with one hour and a half road drive from the city center, and it is definitely one of the most picturesque spot in the suburb of city for photographers who are keen on those original characteristics, traditional culture and values of a typical Vietnamese village in the old days.
On arrival we will walk on foot to visit Mong Phu Communal house, the communal house is a worshipping place of the god – founder of the village, meeting for villagers and annual village festival.
Continue walking around the village to discover the daily life and farming working of Vietnamese peasants along the terrace with a stop in two ancient houses: the biggest ancient house was built 200 years ago and the most ancient house back to 400 years ago.
All the ancient houses are now protected by Vietnam Government with support from JICA a Japanese Government Organization.
Enjoy a local authentic lunch at a local family before taking an exciting bike ride to Temples of Phung Hung and Ngo Quyen, Mia Pagoda and local market.
On the way back to Hanoi, visit Tay Phuong pagoda – the best example of the old typical pagoda in the northern of Vietnam, special with Arhan statue.
Cotinue the tour with the Van Phuc silk village visit. Experience the process of making silk from beginning to end, and the making of conical hats. Touch Van Phuc silk which is famous for making traditional textiles throughout Vietnam and overseas. See the silk from cocoons made into fine silk threads. Wander the local market in Van Phuc village.
Itinerary*
• 8am: Pick-up at your hotel.
• 9:30am: Arrival at Duong Lam village.
• 12pm: Lunch at a local family.
• 1pm: Bike ride to Temples of Phung Hung and Ngo Quyen, Mia Pagoda and local market.
• 2pm: Transfer back to Hanoi. Stop on the way to visit Tay Phuong pagoda.
• 4pm: Visit Van Phuc silk village.
• 5:30pm: Drop-off at the hotel.
