The Mauritius Tea Route is a notable activity for those interested in the history of this island nation. Join our private tea tour of Mauritius and visit three different colonial houses.

Description

At the specified time, we will pick you up from your hotel to begin our private tour, focusing on the significance of tea in the history and development of Mauritius.

We will first visit Le Domaine des Aubineaux, one of the last 19th-century colonial houses open to the public. Here, we will explore the building-turned-museum and learn interesting facts about Mauritian tea while strolling through gardens featuring various species of endemic plants and trees.

Next, we will continue to Bois Chéri, the most renowned location on the tea route. During our visit, we will delve into the island's colonial history and the significance of tea production. We will tour the plantation and observe the different stages of the tea production process.

While at Bois Chéri, we will also visit its museum, where you can discover the diverse aromas and healing properties of tea and enjoy stunning views of the plantations.

Our final stop will be Saint Aubin, a former sugar cane plantation, where you will have 30 minutes of free time to have lunch at a local restaurant.

The excursion will conclude with your drop-off at the hotel after approximately 8 hours.
