Impressive caters, an ancient volcano, lakes, cliffs, waterfalls, and dunes... Discover the natural treasure of Mauritius on this private trip around the south of the Island!
Description
We'll collect you from your hotel before visiting Trou-aux-Cerfs, the largest crater in Mauritius, a dormant volcano offering views over the island. On clear days, Reunion Island can be seen on the horizon.
We continue to Mare aux Vacoas, the largest lake on the island, trekking along its jungle-surrounded banks. Next, we will visit Grand Bassin, the most sacred Hindu site on the island, where followers walk barefoot to honor the god Shiva.
You'll have some free time for lunch before visiting a tea plantation. Then we head to Black River Gorges National Park, the largest in the country, characterized by lakes, cliffs, and waterfalls. Here, you will experience the tropical jungle and the variety of native flora and fauna.
We'll proceed to the Valley of 23 Colors, known for the Seven Coloured Earths, where natural dunes with sand of seven different colors create unique patterns.
Finally, after 8 hours of exploring, we'll return to your hotel.
