Description

Our adventure begins at 8 am at Quero Park, where we'll set off on a hiking expedition through Cerro Igualata. Standing at 4,385 meters (14,385 feet) above sea level, this natural wonder forms the border between Tungurahua and Chimborazo provinces.

After reaching a hacienda on the outskirts of Quero, we'll commence our trek towards the southern edge of the estate, embarking on a 15-kilometer (9.3-mile) journey through one of the rare páramo ecosystems in Tungurahua province.

Over five hours, we'll navigate this extraordinary landscape, exploring the thriving plant life and abundant wildlife of the tropical ecosystem, sharing insights along the way.

At the midpoint of our excursion, we'll take a break for a sandwich. With renewed energy, we'll begin our return journey through a pine forest along the Toro Singuna trail, where we may see local wildlife.

Upon returning to the hacienda, a traditional lunch awaits, providing an opportunity to savor local flavors. You'll also have time to explore the estate's grounds.

After a total of nine hours, we'll conclude our adventure back at the meeting point in Quero.
