Can you imagine being in both hemispheres at the same time? On this trip from Quito, you'll be able to put one foot on each side of the equatorial line that marks the Middle of the World.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll head north to Mitad del Mundo, or 'Middle of the World', famous for the monument that marks the exact location of the equator, from which the country takes its name.

In a natural landscape, the Equatorial Monument stands at latitude 0º0'0". With its pyramidal-quadrangular shape and four monoliths at its corners, this obelisk marks the geographical orientation of the four cardinal points.

We'll see the Ethnographic Museum and the equinoctial line, the imaginary line that divides the earth's hemispheres. With one foot on each side of this line, you'll be in the northern and southern hemispheres simultaneously.

In this area, you'll have free time to explore local cuisine, such as yahuarlocro, a potato-based soup, or discover the ancestral dwellings nearby.

Afterwards, we'll regroup to begin the journey back to the starting point, arriving after a total of 4 to 5 hours.
