Can you imagine being in both hemispheres at the same time? On this trip from Quito, you'll be able to put one foot on each side of the equatorial line that marks the Middle of the World.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll head north to Mitad del Mundo, known for its monument that marks the equator's exact location. In this natural landscape, the Equatorial Monument stands at latitude 0º0'0" with a pyramidal-quadrangular shape and four monoliths that indicate the cardinal points.
We'll visit the Ethnographic Museum and the equinoctial line, where you can stand simultaneously in the northern and southern hemispheres—right in the Middle of the World. You will have free time to try local cuisine, including yahuarlocro, a potato-based soup, or explore the surrounding ancestral dwellings.
Afterwards, we will regroup to start the return journey, arriving back at the starting point after approximately 4 to 5 hours.
