Pasochoa Volcano Hike
We will meet at the Tribuna de los Shyris in Quito at 7:30 am and head towards the Pasochoa Volcano. Upon arrival at the north face of the mountain, we will commence our hike.
The hike will take approximately 4 hours to reach the summit of this extinct volcano, passing through areas with alders, pumamaquis, and palms, alongside ferns, bromeliads, orchids, and heliconias.
At the crater, situated at an altitude of 13,776 feet (4,199 meters), we will observe the Andean forest thriving around the volcano's former eye. From the summit, enjoy views of the Antisana and Cotopaxi Volcanoes. Look out for any Andean condors flying above. We will have a picnic with a sandwich and a drink in this scenic location.
Afterward, we will return to the base and head back to Quito, with an expected arrival at the meeting point by 5:30 pm.
