Uku Pacha Tour of Quito

This tour of Quito focuses on exploring ancient ancestral customs related to the Uku Pacha, the underworld in Inca mythology.

The tour starts at 9 am at the Arco de la Reina. We'll first visit the San Diego cemetery, where important historical figures of Quito rest. The mausoleums in the cemetery are considered works of art.

During the tour, we'll delve into Inca mythology, learning about the Uku Pacha and Supay, the Inca god of death. We'll also pass by the Hospicio San Lázaro and visit the Museo de la Ciudad, a cultural institution housed in a World Heritage Site.

After a delicious lunch at San Ignacio restaurant, we'll visit the Alberto Mena y Caamaño Museum to discover more about historical events. The tour continues to the San Francisco convent, known as the Escorial of the New World.

We'll then explore the church of the Society of Jesus and end the tour at the Yumbos artisan chocolate shop, where you can taste some of Ecuador's finest chocolates. The tour concludes around 12 pm.
