Ragusa Private Tour
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at the Portale di San Giorgio to start a private tour of the historic center of Ragusa. We will begin by admiring the Gothic-Catalan style portal, which depicts the fight between St. George and the dragon. It survived the earthquake that destroyed the town.
A few steps away is the entrance to the Giardino Ibleo, the oldest garden in Ragusa overlooking the Irminio Valley, with views of the Iblei Mountains. Inside, we will find fountains, an avenue lined with palm trees, and an elegant balcony.
Next, we'll visit the Church of San Giacomo, featuring a wooden ceiling, Corinthian columns, and beautiful paintings, before walking past elegant palaces and stores selling Sicilian ceramics and handicrafts.
Our following stop will be at the Circolo di Conversazione, also known as the Caffè dei Cavalieri, an elegant 19th-century neoclassical building adorned with frescoes and chandeliers.
The tour will conclude with a visit inside the San Giorgio Cathedral, a key monument of Ragusa and part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. After about two hours of exploring, we will end at the entrance of this temple.
