Trip Overview

Your adventure will begin with a convenient pick-up from your lodging in Khajuraho. From there, we will set off towards the Orchha Fort Complex. Excited? Let’s get started!

Upon our arrival, we will first explore the grand Jahangiri Mahal, a fort erected by Raja Bir Singh Ju Deo in the 17th century. Following this, we will continue to the Raja Mahal, which was constructed by Madhukar Shah, the predecessor of Bir Singh Ju Deo. This site features an unassuming exterior adorned with chhatris, leading to a lavishly decorated interior, showcasing vividly painted walls that depict religious stories.

Next on our itinerary is the Praveen Rai Mahal, commemorating the talented poet and musician Praveen Rai. This hall, nestled within the scenic gardens of Anand Mahal, is remarkable for its carved niches that flood the space with natural light. We will then proceed to the Ram Raja Temple, famous for its intriguing legends and impressive spires.

After this, our journey takes us to the Laxmi Narayana Temple, an exquisite blend of fortress characteristics and temple architecture. Inside, we will marvel at some of the most remarkable murals found in the area. You are sure to be captivated!

To round off our exploration, we will visit Phool Bagh, a garden designed with a central row of fountains leading to an 8-pillared palace pavilion. Here, we will descend into the underground structure that once served as a summer retreat for the kings of Orchha.

After a fulfilling 10 hours of discovery, we will return you to your hotel in Khajuraho.
